Story
Fresh, creative mediterranean-inspired food since 2018
Here at Waverly Stone, we’re serious about flavor. Whether it’s the food on your plate or the liquid in your glass, we’ll make sure it tastes amazing.
Good flavor isn’t just our job, it’s our passion. Our restaurant dreams started 30 years ago in Chef Ed’s garage with a 2-barrel brew system, a penchant for creative cooking, and a room full of friends he wanted to serve. He already had cheffing in his back pocket. Professional training at the Culinary Institute of America in New York. Executive chef at the Sand Piper in Holland. And recipe developer at a major food corporation where he traveled the country’s major food cities annually in search of new flavors.
Dreams became reality in 2014, when we launched our off-the-beaten-path microbrewery, Macatawa Ale Company. We quickly developed a reputation for flavorful, classic brews and the friendliest service.
Fast forward to 2018, we moved to 8th Street to open Waverly Stone where creating a brand and an atmosphere to match the quality of our food became the priority. But don’t worry—we’re still working to bring our microbrews back to the bar. Stay tuned.
Meanwhile, we’re excited to continue bringing our passion for flavor and hospitality to the Lakeshore community with food, a full bar, 28 taps of local and international beers, and a dynamic wine list.
Not stuffy. Not fancy. Just a welcoming, relaxed dining experience packed with flavor.
